We’re thrilled to announce that our recent gaming-centric campaign for Frank’s RedHot has won a Bronze Cannes Lion in the first-ever Brand Integration for Games category!
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is considered one of the largest events celebrating the best of creativity in brand communication. Cannes Lions introduced the Entertainment Lions for Gaming this year to highlight creative work that fosters a connection between brands and people through gameplay. Entries in this category show how brands successfully integrate into gaming communities, add value to the overall gaming experience, and drive commercial success.
Our teams at SuperAwesome worked closely with Frank’s RedHot and WPP agency, Grey to design and amplify an immersive activation while keeping Frank’s RedHot sauce’s brand identity front and center. Frank’s RedHot’s ‘The Floor is Flava’ game is a flavor-packed version of the classic game set on a custom-made, chicken-wing-shaped island in Fortnite, centered around a volcano that erupts with Frank’s RedHot sauce. In the game, players were able to navigate the island and discover brand-inspired game elements while climbing up Mt. Frank and completing the Floor is Lava challenge.
Our media strategy around the game included custom creator content and video ads, with our creator activations driving over 3 million views for the campaign, generating excitement and buzz about the in-game experience across Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Twitter.
This experience showed how gaming activations can make an impact for brands with hard-to-reach audiences and served as an example of the work our gaming team does every day across platforms like Roblox, Minecraft, and the full span of gaming social media.
