In late September 2020, SuperAwesome was acquired by Epic Games, the leading interactive entertainment company and provider of 3D engine technology.
“More kids interact online than ever before and now is the time to double down on their safety. SuperAwesome is the company developers want to work with to make better online content for kids. We share the belief that digital experiences are better when you go the extra mile to respect privacy and we’re thrilled to invest in this future alongside the talented SuperAwesome team,” Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games.
“The internet was never designed for kids so we started SuperAwesome to make it as easy as possible to enable safe, privacy-driven digital experiences for children everywhere. Partnering with Epic Games gives us the opportunity to deliver that promise on a scale which simply wouldn’t have been possible on our own. We’re proud and excited to be working together to build a safer internet for the next generation” Dylan Collins, co-founder and CEO of SuperAwesome.

✓ We want to #DoTheRightThing in how we interact with others, give and receive feedback and build trust with our colleagues.
✓ #GetThingsDone, we strive to do things to the best quality, on time, through collaboration and with consideration for the long-term.
✓ #OwnTheOutcome helps us take personal accountability and be flexible to deal with ambiguity.
We hope by consistently living by our principles we can all work together better to achieve our mission, building a safer internet for the next generation.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
We work in partnership with the dedicated Epic Games DE&I team that focuses on incorporating DEI practices across the company. We also have our own employee resource group called #BeYou that is sponsored by our leadership team. The #BeYou group, drives initiatives to help us along on our DE&I mission:
Just because someone is included, it doesn’t mean they belong. At SuperAwesome, our aim is to have a diverse workforce with an inclusive culture that ensures people feel like they belong.
Great Minds Don’t Think Alike. Be more awesome…#BeYou .
We enable our team to be their best selves and feel empowered to acknowledge and address their mental health needs. Our benefits package offers comprehensive mental health support including access to an employee assistance programme and to therapy, coaching and live group sessions through Modern Health, a mental health platform.
We offer wellbeing initiatives that have included meditations, in-office massages, a virtual ‘wellbeing festival’ and educational resources. We also have ‘Mental Health Champions’, who are employees trained in mental health first aid and take on the role of championing an open and supportive culture.
Our team deserves more than free snacks, art classes, DJ events and offsites (although we do all of that too!). What we think really matters, is giving you a voice. Our employees’ experience has always been a priority which is why we run engagement surveys and focus groups to get your feedback on how we can continue to make SuperAwesome even more awesome!
Based on our engagement surveys benchmarking, we currently score in the top 25% for engagement in comparison to similar sized companies in our industry. We believe that our team’s engagement is reinforced by the support we offer and their sense of belonging and purpose here.
Our philosophy around growth is that it’s not just vertical. Opportunities to develop can be created by everyone; we’ll enable you with personal learning budgets, bi-annual reviews with 360 feedback, personal development planning and company training.
Alongside this, we organize quarterly ‘Lightning Talks’ which are speedy presentations that help people to share knowledge and showcase their role in Epic Games. We organize bi-annual Hack Days for our Product team where the team can build and explore innovative ideas. We also encourage dedicated learning time to focus on self-learning initiatives; we call it our Pet Projects!
