Space Elevator..for real?
Next to building giant rings around the earth or even the sun, sci-fi is filled with kooky ideas of building eleveators into space. Why take a rocket if you could just ride an elevator? Seems like a good idea for novels and tv shows, but now some smarty pants engineers are actually going to build one.
